About us

Victory-land is very proud to be the longest running youth theatre company in in the Portsmouth and Southsea area.  We were founded by professional actress Lorraine Hepburn in 1982, originally as a touring company in the South and South West, but by 1985 we had branched out to train young would be actors and actresses, and the Victory-land Theatre School was born.

We aim to provide a solid base from which children can develop their talent, personality and social skills to the best of their ability, regardless of background.  Victory-land believe that performing is vital, putting into practice that which you have learnt, exploring the process then gaining the confidence needed to entertain.

We have performed in several prestigious venues across the county including The Kings Theatre in Southsea, Saddlers Wells and Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, The New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth and London’s O2.

As well as performing shows such as Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Romeo and Juliet, Honk and Midsummer Night’s Dream (to name but a few), members have also been involved in a wide range of projects including the Rock Challenge, the Historic Dockyards Festival of Christmas, Mardi Gras Dance, The Southsea Show and Dance: Make Your Move where we were proud to perform in the national final at London’s 02 in 2013.

Lorraine, along with a fully qualified team of teachers are all passionate about the arts and are keen to enable those they teach to achieve and feel proud of their accomplishments.

In the 30 plus years since Victory-land was formed many of our pupils have gone on to carve out successful careers both in and away from the arts.
