As we have already said, Victory-Land is a performing arts school based in Portsmouth, England.
With have pupils from ages 4 to 18 and offer classes in Dancing and Drama. We aim to provide a fun environment from which our students can develop some of the skills that will be found useful in pursuing a career in the performing arts.
Drama Classes
In these classes, age groups are split into their separate ranges and are tutored individually.
In these classes, skills such as mime, mask work, physical theatre, forum theatre and a variety of other methods are taught.
With the older age ranges, this is taught directly. The younger ranges play games that involve the use of body and mind in such a way that these skill are learnt without direct teaching.
At the highest end of the age range, other possibilities open up such as learning technical experience through joining the Crew, stage fight direction, direction and/or writing of their own productions and 101 other disciplines around the theatre. The world is their oyster.
Dance Classes
These classes, otherwise called 'fun dance', blend together many aspects of dancing.
Jazz, ballet, latin, modern, rock and ballroom often combine together to create a fusion which, while neither one method or another, becomes enjoyable.
