Cricket (2):
n
an outdoor game played with bats, balls, and wickets, by two
teams of eleven players
|
 |
At the cricket pavilion the local side
is massing to take on the might of the British Railways Maintenance
Division Yeading East. Roger, the captain, has enough trouble assembling
his side, but these complications pall in comparison to those occurring
to the various wives and girlfriends, some of whom seem to have only a
sketchy idea of the seriousness of the game, "I thought it was just a
matter of putting on a pair of white strides and kicking a silly little
ball around."
A hilarious, very British comedy by Richard Harris, the author of
'Stepping Out' and 'The Business of Murder'.
